Do you love Jesus? Do you have a passion for playing your violin, viola, cello, or bass? Can you read music? If you answered yes, then Zion's Youth Orchestra is for you!
Zion’s Youth Orchestra is for string players that have been playing for a few years, have orchestra playing experience and can sight-read fairly well. Most of these students should be playing from Suzuki book 2 or higher. This orchestra will be used primarily to accompany the Zion’s Youth Choir. Orchestra members will also sing with the choir when they are not playing their instrument. Private lessons are preferred but not required.
Music:
We plan on preparing and performing sacred music, sacred contemporary, Christian pop, Classical inspirational, and music from the classical repertoire. We have two composers and arrangers on the staff who are excited to create some incredible music for us that will give us our own unique sound!
Rehearsal Location and Time:
With the exception to some holidays, orchestra rehearsals will take place weekly on Mondays in Layton Utah. Zion’s Youth Orchestra will rehearse from 4 to 5:50 pm. You will need to bring your own music stand and if possible, a metal music stand as wire stands tip over easily and can cause damage to instruments.
