Volunteers:

In order for our choir and orchestra to function properly and effectively,  we are asking that parents volunteer for a few hours each month to help with various responsibilities. We believe that we can accomplish much good as we all work together to make this a powerful and positive experience for everyone involved.  We will be using  SignUpGenius  so that you are able to select the positions that work best for you.  We are also looking for committee chairs and committee members, so please let us know if you are interested! We look forward to working with each and every one of you, and thank you for helping us in this great endeavor.

Finances:

  • Monthly tuition is due by the 5th of each month. A $10 late fee will be added if the payment is more than 5 days late.

  • Payments can be made by Venmo, automated bill pay, Zelle, or a personal check. We will not accept cash payments.

  • An invoice will be sent by the 20th of each month to ther email on record, stating the amount owed for the following month. The invoice will include any discounts earned.

  • We need 100% from you during rehearsals and performances! We know you may feel awkward with choreography or other things at first, but we know you will grow as you step outside of your comfort zone and give us your all!

  • We are all in this together and are here to inspire and uplift each other.  As such, we will not tolerate any un-Christlike behavior like teasing, bullying or hurtful sarcasm.

Practice:

  • It is expected that you will practice these songs 5 days a week for at least 20 minutes. Remember, this is the minimum. The more you practice, the better we will all become.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is this truly and inter-faith program?
A: Yes! Our hope is to bring children and youth from any denomination to sing together in praises to our Lord. I believe that we all have more in common, than not in common. We will focus on the common ground that we share. If you have questions, please reach out. Come one, come all, and come unto Christ!

Q: Where will we practice?
A:We are currently looking for a new location for fall of 2026

Q: Are my kids required to audition for the choir?
A: Currently we do not have the children audition to join the choir.  If they would like a solo part they will need to audition after they have joined.

Q: Are my kids required to audition for the orchestra?
A: Currently the orchestra does not require an audition, preferably 2 years experience.

Q: When will practices be?
A: Choir will be Mondays from 4-6.

Q: What if I can’t afford to be a part of this?
A:
Fundraising: In just a few hours we can help you pay off 6 months of tuition.

Q: There are 7 major holidays on Mondays throughout the school year. Will we still be practicing on those holidays?
A: Yes, most of them. We will be taking longer breaks like Christmas and Spring Break. However, we will continue to rehearse on afternoons on most “Monday” holidays. We will be taking off Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Q: Will we continue to meet in the summer?
A: In the summer, we will be performing and recording our music videos! The official schedule is still up in the air, but we will be continuing Zion’s Youth Choir through the summer. We are still working out details, but we will be flexible with your schedules.

Q: When will we perform?
A: We typically have a Winter contert in December and a Spring concert in April or May.  We occasionally have another preformance during each semester at an assisted living center or with other choirs when we are invited.  Also, while performance is a very important part of what we do in Zion’s Youth, it is not THE main reason we meet together. We meet together weekly to have experiences that will strengthen our testimonies through song and build musical skills to last a lifetime. This can happen whether or not you can make the performance. But I hope you all can. :)

In the summer we will do our music videos for Choir and Orchestra. It’s gonna be epic!

At some point, I would like to take the choir on tour. However, we’ll see when we have the structure to do so.
