Meet our Staff

Choir Director: Jaron Packer has a BMA degree in Choral Education from Weber State University and a Masters in Religious Education from BYU. He has directed multiple choirs over the past 15 years including children, youth, young adult, and adult choirs. He directed the evening Institute Choir at Weber State for two years. Most recently he was the director of North Front Sound, a barbershop chorus in Davis County. He has taught private lessons for over 20 years. He taught Seminary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for nine years. His most cherished choral experience was directing President Nelson's 364 voice Seminary Choir for the 2018 Worldwide Devotional. He learned the power that young voices with faithful hearts can have on the world. Ever since that event, it has been his dream to start this choir. The time is now!

Associate Choir Director: Amy Garner Cropper has a BMA degree in Choral Education from Utah State University. Over the last 15 years, Amy has directed a variety of choirs including children’s choirs, high school choirs, adult community and church choirs. She was an assistant director for the Cache Valley Children's choir. For the last 12 years, Amy has taught both private and group music lessons and currently teaches classes at Davis Music Academy. She also enjoys performing as a member of SolAria, a local women’s vocal group. One of her favorite things to do is to sing and record music with her husband Kyle. (This is an adorable and beautiful video of her and Kyle singing.) Amy loves working with children and youth, and especially finds joy in praising God through music.

Orchestra Director: Scott Tanner has a BMA in Music Education Composite Teaching Instrumental music from Weber State University and a MA in Violin Performance with an emphasis in Suzuki Pedagogy from Western Illinois University. He has taught orchestra for many years having taught in public schools, charter schools and at the former Dixie State College. He has worked with hundreds of students in large choral and symphony ensembles and has taught as a private violin teacher for more than 30 years. Mr. Tanner continues to teach privately and continues to inspire the youth with his passion for music and love of mankind. Check out Scott's latest music video.

Accompanist: Melinda Nixon Allred has been playing the piano for over 40 years. She started accompanying and performing in groups and choirs from the time she was 11 years old and started composing and arranging music at that same time. Melinda has written and arranged countless pieces of music, both choral and instrumental, and choirs from all over the United States have sung her songs and arrangements in both church and school choirs.  One of her original songs was recently selected as the winner for the BYU Women's Conference music competition in 2023 and was performed at the Marriott Center during Women's Conference with thousands in attendance.  Melinda has a profound love for sacred music and recognizes the divine power that lies within worshipping though song. To provide opportunities for young people of all ages and abilities to come together to praise God through song on a weekly basis. Even if you only join for one rehearsal, our goal is to provide an experience that will not only bless you vocally, but will bring you and others closer to the Savior.
